Anthony-Kerry House
Beverly Hills, CA
The Anthony-Kerry house is a designated City of Beverly Hills Landmark designed by Charles and Henry Greene. Howard Laks Architects designed a new contemporary building to enhance the Landmark building emphasizing architectural harmony, community impact, and aesthetic integration.
The proposed 7,977 sq. ft. residential expansion includes the preservation of the Landmark Building and combining the two-story cast-in-place concrete and glass expansion. Varied building heights from 18’-6”’ to a maximum height of 21’-7” create a seamless integration of contemporary and historical images. The expansion is sited behind the historic character-defining clinker-brick wall and connects to the Landmark with (two) 1-story glass hyphens. Outdoor courtyards, open space, and a courtyard pool are positioned between the proposed expansion and the historic resource.
